Day by day

Classic Foundations, day by day

What happens from the reading list to the certificate, so you know what the weekend asks of you.

  1. 01
    A week ahead

    Step 1: Before day one

A short reading on hygiene and the structure of the eye arrives a week ahead, so day one starts with questions, not definitions.

  2. 02
    9 a.m. to noon

    Step 2: Day one, morning

Setup, isolation and tweezers. You learn to read natural lashes and map a set, then place your first extensions on a mannequin head.

  3. 03
    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    Step 3: Day one, afternoon

Classic placement on the mannequin, with an instructor checking each hand position. The day closes with adhesive handling and cleaning your station.

  4. 04
    9 a.m. to noon

    Step 4: Day two, morning

Your first live model, with an instructor beside you. You start with the natural-lash check and the consent talk, then isolate and place.

  5. 05
    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    Step 5: Day two, afternoon

A second model, a fill and a removal demonstration. We practice what to say when a client has a reaction: stop, and send them to their doctor.

  6. 06
    Certificate of completion

    Step 6: After class

You leave with a certificate of completion from the academy and a practice plan. It is not a state license; the licensing page says what is.

Before you pay

A certificate of completion is not a state license.

Our courses teach lash application, and you leave with a certificate of completion from Pupil Lash Academy. To be paid for lash services in most states you also need an esthetics or cosmetology license, and Florida has its own rules. Check with the Florida Board of Cosmetology before you plan on working with clients.

Your lead instructor

A teacher who answers the licensing question first.

I'm Deidre Vick, and I lead the academy. I teach the way I'd want to be taught: slowly, with my hands beside yours, and with a straight answer on what a course gives you and what your state asks for.

From students

What students say

“Deidre told me on the first call what a certificate is and isn't. I trusted the rest of the course because of that.”

Brianna T.Classic Foundations student

“The mannequin hours slowed me down in a good way. By the live model I knew where my hands belonged.”

Marisol G.Volume Fans student

“Three instructors in one room meant someone was always looking at my tweezers.”

Policies, before you pick a date

Short answers. Each is on the policies page too.

Booking and deposits

A deposit holds your place in a cohort and goes toward your course. You choose a course and a date on the booking page, and we confirm by text or email.

Canceling and running late

Please give seven days' notice to move or cancel, and your deposit moves with you to a later date. With less notice we keep the deposit toward a later date. Classes start on time: if you are more than 30 minutes late on a class day, we will talk with you about joining the next cohort, because the first hour sets up everything after it.

Children and companions

Students are 18 and over. Class days are for students and models only, so please plan childcare and come without a companion. A friend is welcome to meet you after class.

Retakes and refunds

If a class day isn't what you needed, tell us within a week of the course. We will listen and say what we can do, which may be a seat in a later cohort. Once a class has begun, a deposit is not returned.
