Licensing and your state
A certificate of completion is not a state license.
A course teaches you the work. A license is the state's permission to do it for pay. To be paid for lash services in most states you also need an esthetics or cosmetology license. Check your state board before you plan on working with clients.
Before you enroll
Three questions for your state board
Ask these before you choose a course, wherever you live.
Does my state license lash work?
Most do, through esthetics or cosmetology. Some name a separate lash license. Ask the board which applies.
How many training hours does it take?
Boards set the hours and who may teach them. Ask whether a short course counts toward them.
Who may work on clients?
Ask what a student or a certificate holder may do, and what needs a license first.
What the academy holds
The academy and its instructors hold their own Florida licenses. Your certificate is separate from them.

Licensing questions
Do I need a license to enroll?
No. Anyone 18 or older can take a course. A license matters when you want to be paid for lash services.
Will a course let me work on clients?
A certificate shows you finished the course. Whether you may work on clients for pay is your state's rule, so check with your state board.
Does a course count toward license hours?
That depends on your board. Ask it before you enroll, and tell us what it says; we are glad to talk it through.
