Course policies
Read these before you choose a date. They are short on purpose.
Booking and deposits
A deposit holds your place in a cohort and goes toward your course. You choose a course and a date on the booking page, and we confirm by text or email.
Canceling and running late
Please give seven days' notice to move or cancel, and your deposit moves with you to a later date. With less notice we keep the deposit toward a later date. Classes start on time: if you are more than 30 minutes late on a class day, we will talk with you about joining the next cohort, because the first hour sets up everything after it.
Missed class days
If you miss a day, tell us as soon as you can. We will look at what you missed and offer a make-up seat in the next cohort where there is room. If you miss a day without a word, we keep the deposit toward a later date and ask for it again before a new place is held.
Children and companions
Students are 18 and over. Class days are for students and models only, so please plan childcare and come without a companion. A friend is welcome to meet you after class.
Patch tests and allergies
Students practice on mannequin heads first. On a live model, you learn to ask about allergies and to patch test before the day. A patch test helps, but it cannot predict every reaction. If a model notices burning, swelling, redness or blurred vision, you stop, tell an instructor, and the model calls their doctor or goes to urgent care.
Retakes and refunds
If a class day isn't what you needed, tell us within a week of the course. We will listen and say what we can do, which may be a seat in a later cohort. Once a class has begun, a deposit is not returned.
Before class day
Eat a good breakfast and wear a top you don't mind getting a little adhesive on. Tie your hair back, keep your nails short and bring a photo ID. Skip eye makeup if you will model. If your own eyes are red, itchy or sore, tell us and take a theory seat for the day.
